1. The 30th Annual National Gingerbread House Competition

Location: 290 Macon Ave, Asheville, NC
Held at The Omni Grove Park Inn, this nationally-known competition and display features whimsical and elaborate, handmade gingerbread houses of every size, shape, complexity and theme. Contestants from all over the country compete and their gingerbread creations are on display to the public until January 2, 2023.
2. Winterfest at Tryon Resort

Location: 25 International Blvd, Mill Spring, NC
Tryon International Equestrian Center is the place to be this holiday season! Enjoy hundreds of thousands of lights animated to music from the comfort of your vehicle at the Drive-thru Light Show. Go Ice Skating in the famed Tryon Stadium . See the Grinch, visit with Santa, ride on the giant ice slide, enjoy carousel rides, bounce house and bucking horse rides at Winterfest Village. Reserve breakfast with Santa with a kid-friendly buffet, and so much more at Tryon Resort Winterfest 2022!
3. Candlelight Christmas Evenings at Biltmore Estate

A majestic Norway spruce and pathway luminaries welcome you to America’s Largest Home - Biltmore Estate. Inside, thousands of ornaments reflect the soft glow of candles, fireplaces, and twinkle lights. The magic continues in Antler Hill Village, which is festooned with a glittering cascade of lights, ornaments, and displays. Also available this season: the immersive experience Leonardo da Vinci – 500 Years of Genius.
4. THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride at Great Smoky Mountains Railroad

Location: 45 Mitchell Street Bryson City, NC
THE POLAR EXPRESS™ is a 1¼ hour round-trip passenger excursion set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack. Guests on board will enjoy warm cocoa and a treat while listening and reading along with the magical story. Santa will board THE POLAR EXPRESS™, greeting each child and presenting them with a special gift as in the story, their own silver sleigh bell. Christmas carols will be sung as they return back to the Bryson City Depot!
5. Winter Lights at The NC Arboretum

Winter Lights is a spectacular open-air walk-through light show made from over one million lights! This year’s event features favorites like the famously tall 50-foot lighted tree and the Quilt Garden, along with enchanting new details designed to delight and surprise.
6. Winter Wonderland at Grove Arcade

From November 19th through January 2nd, you can shop, dine and explore through Winter Wonderland! Our events this year include our annual Tree-Lighting Ceremony, kids movies and book readings, holiday bar-crawls, holiday gift specials, and so much more.
7. Forest City Christmas Lights

Location: 1 Page Ave, Asheville, NC
The Town of Forest City is honored to continue the tradition of over one million Christmas lights along historic Main Street in 2022. Attractions include: ice skating, horse carriage rides, hayrides, meet & greet with Santa, photo opportunities, shopping, dinning and more.
8. Christmas Market at Citizen Vinyl

Join us for our annual Holiday Market, featuring local artists in a festive atmosphere! Come browse and shop for your gift-giving needs (remembering that you deserve a gift to yourself!) while the vinyl spins, warm comfort food is served, and the cocktails and coffees are poured.
